Week 24 - Fetal Fibronectin Test
The Fetal Fibronectin Test (fFn) is a good indicator of whether or not you are likely to go into labor in the immediate future. Fetal fibronectin is the glue that connects the fetal sac to the uterus, so if that protein is present in the vagina between weeks 22 and 34, the glue may be breaking down ahead of schedule.
Continued concern over a freakishly short cervix prompted my OB to order this test.
