Week 9 - Ultrasound

This is one of two routine ultrasounds my OB typically performs at around 8-12 weeks. It wasn't very long, the technician took some measurements and looked at the placenta.

Both the doctor and ultrasound tech called the baby a "peanut" at this stage. I think that is a bit twee.

I don't know what the arrows mean other than "There's the baby! Right there, silly!".

I don't know what that bubble is on the right, but it is pretty cool.

This is my obstetrician.

Is he up for the challenge?

Week 6 - Ultrasound

Typically ultrasounds are not performed this early. This one was done by my endocrinologist due to "threat of miscarriage" which is needlessly scary terminology. They do these high risk ultrasounds to anyone being treated for pituitary gland problems, such as Prolactinoma.

Apparently those little bubbles are a baby. The dotted line is used to determine a "crown-to-rump" measurement. My due date according to this ultrasound is March 26, however going by LMP the date is March 19.
